Hey, I’m Sal - but most people know me as Social Gal. I chase chaos, beauty, and big energy across New Jersey, turning late-night comedy sets, underground art shows, and hometown legends into stories that *hit*. If it’s weird, raw, or lowkey iconic, I’m already three steps ahead with a notebook and a hot take. I almost died after being diagnosed with heart cancer and documented it all on online in hopes I could leave something behind if I die. Surprisingly, I survived but my love for documentation never died. I came out louder, bolder, and more in love with life than ever. I believe the best stories aren’t polished - they’re real, messy, and full of soul. That’s what I bring to NJ Radar. Catch me wherever the vibes are real, the people are unfiltered, and the stories *actually matter*.

Confession: I Drove to Central Jersey for Valentine’s Events

I live in North Jersey, so you’d think I’d spend most of my time there, right?

    WRONG!

No shade to North Jersey AT ALL but sometimes there’s nothing better than heading over to central jersey (especially in the winter months!)

Yes, we are a central Jersey exists family over here, sorry!

In case you’re as crazy as we are and enjoy long drives OR live in central jersey and are happy to send a little love to a business in your county for the month of romance…

You NEED to check this spot out.

It’s actually one of my favorite spots to visit every month because of their themed events that they take VERY seriously (as they should!)

Say hello to Spring Lake Tap House.

When a Sports Bar Puts on Lipstick

Spring Lake Tap House is, at its core, a sports bar.

Big screens. Game-day energy. The kind of place where someone will absolutely yell at a ref and nobody flinches.

And then February rolls in…and she puts on lipstick.

Suddenly the lighting feels softer. The cocktails are blushing. The brunch menus promise 90 minutes of bottomless therapy. There are chocolate-covered strawberries involved on Galentine’s Day. DJs are queued up.

And somehow, without losing its edge, the whole space leans romantic.

Not French bistro romantic or “whisper over candlelight” romantic.

    But Jersey romantic!

The kind where you can sip something sparkly, watch a game in the background, split dessert, and still argue about whether love is real.

It doesn’t try to hide what it is, it just layers on the theatrics.

That’s what makes it work. Not everyone wants a quiet Valentine’s dinner.

Some of us want energy, music, bottomless brunch, trivia, and the option to scream when someone fumbles the ball.

Spring Lake Tap House understands that Valentine’s Day in Central Jersey isn’t one-size-fits-all.

    It’s speed dating one night.

Brunch with your girls the next.

Dinner with a DJ on Friday.

    Trivia on Monday.

It’s romance…but make it Monmouth County.

The Food & Drinks Did Not Come to Play

    Let’s get one thing straight.

Spring Lake Tap House may be flirting with romance this month but it is still, at its core, a place that feeds you properly.

I had the T.A.B.L.E Wich (which is as chaotic and stacked as it sounds), a full-on pancake board, and their signature pizza with a drizzle of hot honey that I am still thinking about.

The pizza? Unreal. That little tinge of hot honey on top cuts through everything in the best way. Sweet, salty, a little spicy. It’s the kind of bite that makes you stop mid-conversation and go, “Wait. Hold on.”

    1770829811655.webp

Then there was the pancake board with chocolates, sweethearts, scrambled eggs, and a fruit platter included!

Fluffy stacks, sweet toppings, the kind of brunch situation that pairs aggressively well with 90 minutes of bottomless drinks. If you’re coming for Galentine’s brunch in Central Jersey, this is the move.

    1770829812652.webp

The T.A.B.L.E Wich is what you order when you’re hungry hungry. Big, layered, no-nonsense. Exactly what you want in a sports bar that’s temporarily dressed for Valentine’s Day.

    1770829811993.webp

And then you’ve got the cocktails.

I wish I had photographed the cocktail menu so I could give you every name and ingredient like a responsible journalist.

    I did not.

What I can tell you is this: They’re pink. They’re sparkly. They’re dangerous.

    1770829811911.webp

Spring Lake Tap House didn’t just toss a heart-shaped garnish on a vodka soda and call it a day. The Valentine’s-themed cocktails actually feel intentional. Fruity without being childish, sweet without being syrupy, strong enough to remind you this is still a sports bar at heart.

There were flirty, blush-toned drinks that felt made for Galentine’s brunch photos.

Deeper red pours that leaned more “date night with edge.”

    1770829811684.webp

And brunch cocktails that hit different when you know you’ve committed to 90 minutes of bottomless.

Just a Jersey bar that decided to romanticize itself for a few weeks and did it well. That’s kind of the charm.

You can hold a pink cocktail in one hand while there’s still a game playing on the screen behind you.

    That balance is rare.

    So…Is Central Jersey Calling?

    1770829811618.webp

Listen. I love North Jersey. I do.

But every now and then, Central Jersey reminds you it has range.

Spring Lake Tap House isn’t trying to reinvent romance. It’s just making it accessible. Fun. A little loud. A little chaotic. Very Jersey.

If you’re looking for Valentine’s Day events in Central Jersey, a Galentine’s brunch in Spring Lake, NJ, live music, speed dating, themed trivia, bottomless drinks, or just an excuse to romanticize your winter weekends?

    Pull the fork up!

Not everything needs to be candlelit and whisper-quiet.

Sometimes love looks like DJ sets at 8 PM, hot honey pizza, good ass food, and 90 minutes of bottomless mimosas in a sports bar that decided to flirt with February.

So whether you’re driving down from North Jersey like we do…or you’re lucky enough to live in Monmouth County already…

Go give Central Jersey some love this month.

    They earned it.
