Dare to weave a web of shimmer and steel!
Are you ready to create a creature that is more captivating than creepy? Join us for a hands-on wirework and beadwork workshop where you will transform basic wire and mixed beads into an exquisite, poseable spider sculpture.
Why You Should Take This Class:
*Master Wire & Bead Artistry: Learn essential jewelry-making and wire-wrapping techniques to turn loose components into a sturdy, three-dimensional piece of art.
*Endless Personalization: Explore how different bead textures—from faceted crystals and smooth pearlized rounds to natural lava stone and metallic accents—give every spider its own distinct character.
*Versatile Display Pieces: Your finished spider will balance on bookshelves, perch along desk edges, or sit atop decorative displays as a striking handmade accent.
What You Can Expect:
During this guided, step-by-step session, you will learn the complete process of building a beaded arachnid:
*Body Construction: Anchor two larger focal beads together using wire wrapping to form the head and main body segment.
*Leg Sculpting & Articulation: Shape, measure, and attach eight poseable wire legs.
*Bead Patterning: String and layer a variety of bead shapes—such as seed beads, bicones, rondelles, and accent beads—to add texture and dimension to each leg.
*Finishing Loops: Form neat wire loops at the tip of each leg to lock beads in place and enable realistic posing.
All structural wire, professional tools (wire cutters and round-nose pliers), beads, and step-by-step instructions will be provided.
Instructor Bio:
Shawnda Camsari. From Formulas to Fiber: The Art of The Knotted Rose For 15 years, my world was defined by the structured beauty of chemistry. While my professional life was spent in a lab, my heart always belonged to the studio. After a rewarding season at home raising my two children, my youngest has finally headed off to kindergarten—and I’ve headed back to the workbench. The Knotted Rose is the result of a lifelong artistic itch and a newfound passion for sustainability. I specialize in intricate wire wrapping, needle and wet felting, and micro-macramé. My materials are as unique as my designs; I source high-quality, reclaimed elements from our local craft thrift charity, giving forgotten supplies a second life. Every piece I create is a bridge between my scientific eye for detail and my love for the organic, "knotted" beauty of handmade art.
